The information provided below will be helpful if you have an existing hurlcon spa heater, residential or commercial. We carry the HX and JX range of Hurlcon spa heaters. Unfortunately the MX range of Hurlcon heaters is not manufactured anymore so there is only a limited supply of available parts.
Hurlcon Spa Heater Range
Hurlcon’s primary range of spa heaters started with the HX and WX models. The HX70 is a 70 megajoule gas heater and the HX120 is a 120 megajoule gas spa heater. There was also a modified version of the HX series called the WX range and this was in fact the same as the HX heaters but the water connections from the rear were different, they were plumbed in flexible hosing. HX had the water in/outlets plumbed in hard PVC and WX was plumbed with flexible water connections.
After a number of years Hurlcon introduced the first AGA compliant wall mount gas heater, the JX series. The JX series gas spa heaters are available as a 130 megajoule size or a 160 megajoule size gas heater. These were developed so they could easily fit down the side of the house up on the wall. And they are perfect for that. For a quote on a JX130 or JX160 gas heater go the Hurlcon JX heater page.
So the HX, WX and JX series spa heaters are the three spa heaters used on domestic spas and small pools. And to this day the HX, WX and JX gas spa heaters are still the most popular gas heaters used on spas. Some of the components and technology has been updated but the size, gas required, the in and outlet pipes are still all the same, some 16 years later.
Below is the specification data on heat of the hurlcon spa heaters. Should you have any questions or like a quote on each just click the links below each model.

Hurlcon HX & WX Heaters – Whats the difference?
You may have a Hurlcon heater model that is labeled as a WX75 or WX120 heater. The HX and WX heaters are the same heater physically, the difference between the two is the internal manifold configuration and the water pipe connections.
The WX heaters are setup as a by-pass heater. What does this mean? It means that the water pipes delivering the water to the heater are in flexible hoses and this is called a by-pass system. The water is pushed into and pulled out from the heater via the spa pump.
The HX heaters are setup as a full-flow heater. What does this mean? It means that the water pipes delivering the water to the heater are in 40 or 50mm PVC pipes and the pump only pushed the water through the heater. There is no by-pass plumbing configuration needed for the HX model spa heater.
Hurlcon Spa Heaters – JX Range
Here we have the JX series gas spa heaters. These are slightly larger than the HX series heaters and have been specifically designed for wall mounting.
