The AstralPool Hot Surface Igniter (HSI) is a replacement ignition component designed for selected AstralPool Viron eVo, ICI and HiNRG gas pool heaters. This igniter uses durable silicon nitride (Sinitride) material with a ceramic body to deliver reliable ignition performance in high-temperature heater environments.
If your gas pool heater is failing to ignite, locking out during startup, or repeatedly attempting ignition without lighting, a faulty hot surface igniter is one of the most common causes.

What Does the Hot Surface Igniter Do?
The hot surface igniter heats up during the ignition cycle to ignite the gas burner inside the heater. It is a critical combustion component and must operate correctly for safe and reliable heater startup.
This component may also be referred to as a HSI igniter, gas heater ignitor, silicon nitride igniter or pool heater ignition element.
